Winds of Change is more than a store. Over time it has become like a gentle magnet on 5th Street in downtown Courtenay, attracting kindred spirits from near and far who share an interest in metaphysics, personal growth, or spirituality. Many of those who are pursuing alternative approaches to living, learning, healing, and just being the best they can be, seem to be drawn here to meet us and share the Love.

Winds of Change reflects my personal values in sharing and caring for our local and global community, with a focus on ethical and ecologically sound practices for buying and selling. We appreciate our small business community: all of the interesting people and diverse offerings that make Courtenay such a gem.

Did you know that when you spend $20 in small businesses, $18 of it is recycled and spent in other small businesses? If you take that same $20 and spend it at an internationally owned box store, only $2 of it is returned to our local economy. You can directly help your own community to thrive, by supporting your neighbors instead of the multi-national giants that have such a devastating effect on locally owned small businesses.

Winds of Change provides an enlightening, non-denominational, welcoming and inclusive environment. We celebrate and share with our visitors as they follow their various paths toward a deeply fulfilling life, and we offer products to complement both the inner and outer journey. If you feel like talking about whatever you are currently exploring, you will always find someone to chat with here. As you browse you will discover imported and locally crafted items from over 70 carefully chosen suppliers. You will find inspired jewelry and clothing, gorgeous glass art, pottery, and handcrafted baskets, along with meaningful greeting cards, a great selection of books, crystals, incense, and candles. Soon we will be offering everything online, including the heartfelt service that has become our signature.
